Window of Opportunity (poem)

By Luke Labern

I feel the need to rush in this window
Of opportunity. When the winds blow:
There are seconds between winners, you know.

Contestants fill the spaces whilst champions
Contest the medals; they trained for eons
Thus they shine brightly like human neons.

A borderline between average and great:
The outcome determined at an odd rate.
I hope this life of mine can satiate.
