Resume (poem)
By Luke Labern
For I was once a saddened manWhose passion struck him down
And though the world did cry for him
He could not find renown.
That time has come and gone again
Like light above the earth;
And though it was a lasting pain
He found again his worth.
Cerebral channels didn’t move;
Coagulated thoughts
And though his mind was whirring full
He had too strong retorts.
The puzzles asked for retraced steps
And silence thus was caused —
And through considered mental reps
Resume from where he paused.
