Quintessential (poem)

By Luke Labern

As I float through hallways
There's pain in me, always.
When the day draws to close
I count what I will lose.

Promised not to live through
With the use of a pew:
No Gods nor fantasies,
Just the truth of birds; bees.

Though with passionate veins
Come thoughts' most obscure trains.
A second extended
For some it is ended:

Duality persists
As nature still exists.
This be its handiwork --
But if it could tweak; twerk:

Would any of this... be?
That, I wanted to see.
...
Now look at me.
