Closure (poem)

By Luke Labern

Closure. Pending a new chapter
Watch the hero feel the rapture,
Decisions unfolding with pace
As we all head to the same place.

It's easy to awaken now:
Sense of purpose -- but what to plow?
Many direction -- just one life.
How to stop regrets being rife?

To see and hear nature growing
Lights up my mind, much like glowing,
As your eyes do when I promise
And deliver to you, from this.

The wind's chill strong, just like the thrill
Of new love's song -- not at all shrill,
Unlike sour times when we fall
Like an engine starting to stall.

At times it bloats to store the fuel:
Haven't you heard? Life is a duel.
Though this machine know how to win:
I remember all that I've seen.
