A Godless Path (poem)

By Luke Labern

Defeat is no longer the finalé:
Survival essence you must rally.

Time is extended, but our bones are not.
Exhale your ideas, before they rot.
You're choosing to live, existential man;
Make decisions! You write your own plan.

Ink and tears will fall on your paper,
Don't allow your emotions to taper
Off -- the journey can be difficult...
Some choose to follow myths and cults,

But I don't need a god or higher power:
Logic over faith will always tower.
